How to pay

Pay your fees in Populi. If you cannot pay in full by the fees due date, arrange a payment plan before that date. For due dates and fee types, see Fees.

Paying your fees

  1. Log in to Populi and open My Profile.
  2. Select the Financial tab to see your invoices.
  3. Select Make a Payment and follow the prompts.

Third-party payment

If someone else is paying your fees, send them a payment link from Populi.

  1. Log in to Populi and open My Profile.

  2. Select the Financial tab.

  3. Under Make a Payment, select Someone else paying?

  4. Copy the link and send it to the person paying.

Payment plans and recurring payments

A payment plan and a recurring payment work together, but they do different jobs, and it helps to know which is which. A payment plan is a schedule. It splits your fees into instalments and sets the date each one is due, but it does not take any money from you. A recurring payment is what actually pays those instalments for you, because it tells Populi to charge your card on a regular basis.

When Haddon Accounts sets up a payment plan in Populi, we don't have your card details, so we can't charge you. If you have a payment plan and no recurring payment, you will still need to log in and pay each instalment yourself by its due date.

Most students on a plan will want both: the plan so their fees can be paid in instalments, and a recurring payment so they don't have to remember each one.

Payment plans

The standard plan is the 12 Week Repayment Plan, which runs from one week before the trimester starts to one week after it ends. Custom plans are available through Haddon Accounts. See Payment plans in the policy.

Example: from no payment plan to a payment plan

Say you've registered for your courses and your invoice is sitting in Populi, but you can't pay the full amount by the fees due date. Here is how you would move onto a plan.

  1. Before the fees due date, which is 11:59 pm AEST, 7 days before the trimester starts, email accounts@haddoninstitute.org to ask for the 12 Week Repayment Plan, or select it when you register for courses. If you need different terms, ask Haddon Accounts about a custom plan in the same email.
  2. Haddon Accounts approves your plan and sets it up in Populi. Once that's done you have met the fees due date, even though you haven't paid everything yet.
  3. From here, each instalment needs to be paid by its due date. You can log in to Populi and pay each one yourself through My Profile > Financial > Make a Payment, or you can set up a recurring payment so they are paid automatically, as shown below.

Recurring payments

A recurring payment pays your plan instalments automatically from your own card. Set one up only after your plan is approved, because a recurring payment on its own is not a payment plan and does not meet the fees due date.

Example: from no recurring payment to a recurring payment

Say Haddon Accounts has approved your 12 Week Repayment Plan, and you'd rather not log in and pay each instalment by hand. Here is how you would set up automatic payments.

  1. Log in to Populi, open My Profile, select the Financial tab, then select Make a Payment.
  2. Enter your payment details. Haddon Accounts can't do this step for you, because we don't hold your payment details.
  3. Under Payment Frequency, select Pay this amount regularly if there is an amount due.
  4. Choose a frequency and amount that match your plan's instalments, then confirm.

From then on, Populi will charge the amount you chose, on the frequency you set, whenever there is an amount due on your account. It's worth checking your Financial tab after the first payment to make sure it went through.
