Payment Plans Policy
This policy sets out when student fees are due, the payment plans Haddon Institute offers, and what happens when fees are overdue. For practical steps, see Fees, How to pay and Financial hardship.
Fees due date
After a student registers for courses, Haddon Institute issues a student fees invoice in Populi. Students must pay the invoice in full, or have an approved payment plan in place, by the fees due date.
The fees due date is 11:59 pm AEST, 7 days before the trimester starts. Each invoice states the fees due date.
Payment plans
Students who cannot pay in full may ask for a payment plan. The standard plan is the 12 Week Repayment Plan. It starts one week before the trimester starts and ends one week after the trimester ends. Students who need different terms can arrange a custom plan with Haddon Accounts.
Students must request a plan before the fees due date, by emailing accounts@haddoninstitute.org or by selecting the 12 Week Repayment Plan at registration. A plan takes effect once Haddon Accounts approves it and sets it up in Populi.
Recurring payments
After a plan is in place, students may set up a recurring payment in Populi so that each instalment is paid automatically. A recurring payment is not the same as a payment plan. A recurring payment set up without an approved plan does not meet the fees due date.
Overdue fees
If a student has not paid in full and has no approved payment plan by the fees due date, the invoice is overdue.
When an invoice or a payment plan instalment is 7 days overdue, Haddon Institute restricts the student's access to Populi and course content. Access returns when the student pays the overdue amount or Haddon Accounts approves a payment plan.
If the balance stays unpaid after access is restricted, Haddon Institute refers the matter to the Academic Dean. The Academic Dean may withdraw the student from their courses. The Course Withdrawal Policy and the Tuition Refunds Policy apply to any withdrawal.
