Extension Policy

The lecturer reviews each extension request case by case. Students must give a valid reason for a missed deadline. If the lecturer approves the request, the extension will not exceed 2 weeks beyond the original due date. Only one extension per assignment is permitted. If the student does not submit by the extended deadline, the result is an automatic fail.

Late Submission Policy

Lecturers decide how to treat late submissions. Without an approved extension, an assignment submitted after the due date typically receives an automatic fail.

Incomplete Policy

If a student submits an assignment on time, but the lecturer judges it incomplete, the lecturer can grant an extension.

Retake Policy

If a student fails a course, the lecturer can allow an extra assignment. That assignment must be of sufficient quality to achieve a passing grade.

Word Count Policy

All assessments have a ±10% word limit tolerance. For example, a 3,000-word assessment can be between 2,700 and 3,300 words.

Work outside this range (too short or too long) receives a mark deduction. The deduction depends on how far the work exceeds the tolerance:
